Great place to stop for a really good macchiato or espresso. They also have good cookies and other local farmers market products.

Was looking forward to a great dinner here but there was a "closed" sign and a restaurant for sale sign out front! This was on 8/15/12.

Excellent organic cafe. Note this is no longer a higher end dinner place as some previous reviewers noted. Exterior does not reflect relaxed atmosphere inside.

Wonderful organic breakfast with homemade everything. I had a veggie omelet, that came with English muffins, local jam and not quite crispy enough potatoes. The bear claw for dessert was scrumptious and I took home. A bag of hazelnut cookies which are delicious. The coffee was great and kept coming all morning.

They had a very limited menu for breakfast. No breakfast potatoes. Boo. The eggs and bacon were very good though. You get a slight view of the ocean over the buildings across the street.

The food is fine. Coffee was typical dinner coffee. It was just a weird place. Something strange about it. If you want to go somewhere that the same people eat at every day, here it is. Classic local shop.

We had our first dinner here on our vacation after appetizers at spinners. Although spinners was gearing up for a busy night, this place was serene and quiet with only one other table for being a Saturday night. That being said, I realized that it was the owners doing the service and cooking and were very sweet. The food was good, needed a little salt, but good. I had the fish and chips and my wife had the fish tacos. Everything on the menu was found locally and organic, so the downside was there was no pork or chicken option. If you are an oregon seafood lover or beef eater than this place will be excellent. The decor has been remodeled too, and their crater lake cocktail was two layers and tasted more like a martini, which was better than spinner's.

Basic food. Fair prices. Great for locavores who want to eat organic! The greenest breakfast place in Gold Beach complete with local honey.

Our salmon omelets were probably the best we ever had in a long time. They use locally grown and organic produces for the food. Service was exceptionally good! My husband really like the homemade cranberry jelly that served with breakfast! We will definitely come back here if we come back to Gold Beach Oregon.

Gold Beach is a charming little town and the Cape Cafe at first glance seems delightful but after our experience there we recommend you skip it and try somewhere else. The serving staff seemed disorganized and flustered. We had to wait almost 20 minutes just to get a cup of coffee and 45 minutes for our breakfast. We watched a couple that had come in after us be served and finish their meal before we ever recieved our meal. As we waited we listenedi to the staff argue with each other in the kitchen. I ordered the eggs, bacon, and pankake meal for $7. I had a small amount of bland scrambled eggs, 1 bland pancake, and a couple small slices of kiwi as garnish. They said they had just ran out of bacon. My husband had the French Toast that looked bizzare and was a really small portion but was edible. When leaving we saw that the owners had it up for sale, we think that is a good idea.

Saw the outside the night before. It looked like it would be good. Decided to come back in the am and try it out. We were greeted with a friendly smile and promptly seated (you can sit where ever you want) They get a star for that. The menu was very simple. That is fine with us. Here's where things go bad, for a restaurant. The food was severely lacking of anything even remotely delightful. Both of our breakfasts were very plain and tasteless. The coffee (according to my wife) wasn't very good either. On the positive side, we didn't get sick and had something to eat. Gotta be thankful for something. If they could add some flavor to their meals it'd be worth a visit. Otherwise go elsewhere.

Four of us enjoyed delightful dinners there tonight, complete with a frozen cranberry palate cleanser afterward. The restaurant is clean and well cared for and our server was accommodating as I requested an item not on their limited menu. My husband raved about the burger. Another in our party ordered the smoked salmon pasta and he said it's his regular order since he enjoys it so much. We hope the Cape remains open. Good job! We will try their breakfast next,

We arrived at 7 pm and were promptly greeted by the staff. I ordered fillet Mignon and loved it. I'm from cattle country and couldn't believe that they had such special steak! They buy it locally and it's amazing. Everything was beautiful, tastefully done and the soft jazz in the background complimented the fire pit outside and the wine inside. I tasted my friend's Halibut and I was shocked that I liked it. I've not tasted such good food since leaving the Midwest. Definitely for the discerning crowd. Very upscale and great ambiance. I almost forgot... the cheesecake was so tall it almost didn't fit in the to go box!

After spending pretty much the most perfect weekend at Bandon Dunes, my husband and I decided to take the scenic route (Highway 101) from Bandon, Oregon to San Francisco. We thought we would take our chances finding a breakfast place along the way. We spotted this gem as we were passing through Gold Beach. The place is really cute -- well decorated, both inside and outside. The breakfast menu had a nice selection of tasty breakfast fare, including a special vegan and vegetarian menu. We each ordered a veggie-filled omelet with breakfast potatoes. The portions were perfect, and it all tasted like a home-cooked meal. You can tell the owners poured a lot of love and care into this place. We'll definitely visit again.
